This speaker test plays a clear test tone through your left, right, or both speakers so you can confirm your audio works and that the stereo channels are wired correctly. If you press "Left" and the sound comes from the right, your channels are swapped.

It works with built-in laptop speakers, headphones, earbuds, external speakers and TV browsers. Set your volume to a comfortable level before you start.

When you press a button, your browser generates a clean test tone and routes it to the left speaker, the right speaker, or both. By listening to where the sound comes from, you can confirm each speaker works and that the channels are not reversed. The tone is generated locally — nothing is downloaded.

Press "Test Left" and listen: the sound should come only from your left speaker or left earbud. Then press "Test Right" for the right side. If the sides are reversed, your channels are swapped — often due to headphones worn the wrong way, a faulty cable, or an audio setting.

Check that your volume is up and not muted, that the correct output device is selected in your system, and that headphones are fully plugged in. Browsers also block audio until you interact with the page, so the tone only plays after you press a button. Try a different output device if one is silent.

The frequency sweep plays a tone that rises smoothly from low to high. It helps you hear the full range your speakers or headphones can reproduce, and can reveal buzzing, rattling or frequencies that drop out. Keep the volume moderate while using it.
