This keyboard test checks every key on your keyboard. Press any key and it lights up on the on-screen layout below, while the key name and its code appear live. Keys you have already pressed stay highlighted, so you can quickly confirm that the whole keyboard works.

Use it to find dead keys that do not respond, sticky keys that repeat, or ghosting where simultaneous presses are dropped. It works with laptop, mechanical and external USB or Bluetooth keyboards.

Every time you press a key, the browser reports a key event. The test highlights the matching key on the on-screen keyboard and shows its name and code. Keys you have pressed stay green so you can see at a glance which keys still need testing. Nothing is recorded — it all runs in your browser.

The key may be physically dead or dirty, the layout on screen may differ from your physical layout, or the key may be reserved by your browser or operating system (for example F5 refreshes the page, F1 opens help, and the Windows/Command key is handled by the OS). Try the key in a text field too to confirm.

Ghosting is when a keyboard fails to register some keys while several are pressed at once. The maximum number of simultaneous keys a keyboard can report is its key rollover (for example 6-key rollover, or N-key rollover for unlimited). Press several keys together and watch which ones light up to get a feel for your keyboard's rollover.

Yes. The test works with any keyboard the browser can see — built-in laptop keyboards, mechanical boards, and external USB or Bluetooth keyboards. Media and some function keys may be handled by the system and not appear here.
