Screen Uniformity Test

This screen uniformity test fills your display with even fields of grey, white and colour so you can check that brightness and colour are consistent across the whole panel. Look for darker or brighter patches, a coloured tint in one area, or cloudy backlight bleed — all signs of uneven uniformity.

Mid-grey is the most revealing background for brightness unevenness, while solid white exposes tint and dirty-screen effect. It works on monitors, laptops, phones and TVs.

Uniformity is how evenly a screen displays the same colour and brightness across its whole surface. A perfectly uniform panel shows one flat tone everywhere; in practice you may see slightly darker corners, brighter bands, or a colour tint in some regions.

A mid-grey field is best for spotting brightness unevenness and clouding. Solid white reveals colour tint, yellowing and the dirty-screen effect, while pure black exposes backlight bleed and IPS glow. Checking all of them gives the full picture.

Yes. Slight unevenness is normal on most LCD/LED panels, especially toward the corners, and is usually only visible on solid colours. It becomes a problem when patches or tints are clearly visible during normal use — then it may be worth a warranty claim or exchange.
